Those of you who are aware of the  CARISNET 2 project  will have noted that a major activity under the project is the convening of an event (CIVIC 2.0) this year consisting of a conference and capacity building workshops. The proposed date is September 2008 and the venue will be the Dominican Republic. Some 50 persons will be sponsored under the project to attend the 5 day event.

As mentioned before, the event will extend over a maximum of 5 days. This will include 3 days of workshops (1 for facilitation/moderation, 2 for integration of ICTs into development sectors) and 2 days for the CIVIC conference. Most persons will not be present for the full 5 days, but we expect the full 50 participants for the CIVIC conference.

 

The suggested agenda for our discussions is as follows:

 

1. Review and finalise the objectives of the CIVIC event May 29-31

2. Establish a process of selection of focus sectors for ICT4D integration training  June 2-4

3. Develop the Agenda for the event                                    June 5-10

4. Develop criteria by which attendees will be selected        June 11-13

5. Determine a  format/content  for  the final Event Report June 16-18

To focus on development sectors and questions we could use for a quick poll of members? (Remember the objective is to identify sectors that persons NEED to be  trained in, to better do their work.)
